Rules and Regulations

HOUSE RULES AND REGULATIONS

Please Read and Observe.  Thank you.

 

  1. Sand must be removed from shoes and feet at the shower. Dry yourself before using the elevator.
  2. Do not smoke in the elevator.
  3. There must be nothing left in the walkways. This includes shoes, mats, folding chairs, bicycles, etc.
  4. Garments, rugs, linens, towels, windsocks, etc. are not to be hung on any patio or walkway railings or from windows or balconies.
  5. Keep your patios neat, clean and uncluttered.
  6. Garbage must be properly bagged and placed in dumpster. Trash personnel will not remove trash left outside the dumpster.  Items that are too large to fit in the dumpster must be carried away by owner.  Please put recyclables in bins.
  7. Pets are to be walked only on the grass on the southwest corner of the grounds and all leavings must be cleaned up by the owner/tenant.
  8. Bicycles are to be parked in places provided.
  9. No maintenance other than cleaning is to be done on vehicles in the parking area.
  10. Cars are to be washed on the southwest end of the building.
  11. Cars are not to be parked in front of garages or in the places reserved for disabled persons unless you qualify for these designated areas. Observe all limited parking or no parking signs.
  12. Garage doors are to be closed and locked at all times.
  13. Keep garages neat, clean and uncluttered.
  14. Garages are not to be used for storage in any manner that would prevent the parking of a normal vehicle.
  15. Keep your storage items and vehicle within the limits of your garage so as not to interfere with adjoining garages.
  16. Disabled vehicles are not to be stored or left in garages or the parking lot.
  17. The parking of trucks (pick-up trucks excluded), recreational vehicles, trailers, and boats are prohibited on the premises.
  18. Parking of motorcycles is prohibited in the parking lot.
  19. Skateboarding and other such dangerous activities are prohibited on the premises.
  20. Fireworks are prohibited on the premises.
  21. Children are not allowed to play in the elevator.
  22. All owners/tenants/guests must stay off the dune line. The picking or altering of plant life on the dune is prohibited.  These are violations of a State (DNR) Law.
  23. All owners/tenants/guests must not use the dune line as an access to the beach or adjoining property to the south (Ocean Oasis Condominium).
  24. Do not climb the fence around the property.
  25. Do not litter the property.
  26. Please do not feed any birds from your patio, balcony, or anywhere on the condo premises. This encourages them to return.  Bird droppings in great numbers can draw rats onto the property.
  27. Illegal drugs or other illegal activities will not be tolerated on the premises.
  28. Keep the volume of your radio or stereo down in consideration of your neighbors above you, below you, and on either side of you.
  29. Tenants must ensure that guests and visitors observe all rules.
  30. If you see anything unusual happening on the property, call 911 and report what it is and that you are part of “Neighborhood Crime Watch”. Then call or notify a board member.

 

These rules and regulations in no way alter or conflict with the rules and regulations contained in the Declaration of Condominium or By Laws of The Sands Condominium.


Policy for Charging of Electric Vehicles
1. No electric vehicles shall be recharged from outlets in the common areas of the condominium.
2. Extension cords shall not be used to supply power from individual units to recharge electric vehicles.
3. The Sands shall allow owners who contemplate purchasing an electric vehicle or plug-in hybrid to install charging circuits at their assigned parking space using their own electric meter provided it does not affect common areas and no part of the cost be assigned to The Sands. 
4. No alteration shall be made within an individual unit for the purpose of recharging electric vehicles.
5. All electric installations must be properly permitted, use a licensed and insured electrician, conform to the architectural standards of the building, and conform to the recommendations of the manufacturer.
6. Before purchasing an electric vehicle or plug-in hybrid that is intended to be domiciled at The Sands Condominium and recharged there in, permission must be granted from the Board of Directors.

Policy for Communications
Issues raised during discussion at meetings, via phone call or email must be done in a respectful manner and tone. Raising a concern any other way will not be considered at any time. Respect is always an expectation in any interaction between Board members and owners and between owners.

Policy for Drones
In respect for owners and their privacy, drones with cameras are not permitted on The Sands Property.
